Exciting Times Ahead!
Welcome to my first blog of 2017. There are lots of exciting things happening in my world and I’m pleased to be sharing these with you. Last year saw the arrival of my new designs which were animals and campervans.
These will be coming with me on my stand at the Spring Fair, NEC Birmingham. It’s the first time I’ve ever exhibited at such a large event and the Department for International Trade selected me for their stand to meet overseas buyers. I am nearing completion on a collage of the Eiffel Tower which I thought might be a suitable design with love in the air for Valentine’s Day. It’s a fabulous World landmark to attempt, so I hope I do it justice!
Some new products on the horizon for 2017 are bedspreads, aprons, make up bags, tote bags, towels to name a few. I’ll be posting photographs on my 3 social media sites if you’d like to see the new goodies. They will feature on my website shortly too.
I’m also looking to collage the Statue of Liberty in March. A big decision is whether to do the iconic face or to do most of the statue including the Manhattan skyline. I’m still undecided, so it’s a decision I won’t be rushing as I want it big and bold, so a lot of hours will go into creating it, therefore I need to feel the love for the design.
In other news, my new studio is nearly ready. This will create more needed space for me and my ever increasing magazine stash of glossy magazines. I have my favourites, and I get very excited when new ones come my way. A bit like I did as a child with new pens and notebook!
I loved creating the wine label for Paso-Primero’s wine, Paso-Prima last year and I am thrilled that I’ve been asked by Paso-Primero wines to design their label for a new Merlot they’re making this year. Their motto is “Born in Shrewsbury, made in Spain”. You may remember the label I designed for their new2016 smooth as a baby’s bum Cabernet Sauvignion. I have plenty of time to get my thinking cap on over a glass or three to come up with an eye catching design with their well-known ladder taking precedence. It will be in February though as I’ve been adhering to dry January.
